What Does It Mean to Be an Ethical Tarot Reader?

An ethical Tarot reader isn’t just someone who interprets cards—they are a guide, a mentor, and a source of clarity for those seeking insight. My role is to help clients connect with their own inner wisdom, empowering them to reflect, explore their options, and make decisions from a place of self-awareness.

While Tarot can reveal potential paths, the future ultimately lies in each person’s hands. I encourage clients to take charge of their lives, rather than relying on the cards for absolute answers.

Additionally, I firmly reject fear-based practices such as identifying “curses” or “hexes” and then charging fees to remove them. Tarot should be a tool for empowerment, not manipulation.

My Code of Ethics

As an ethical Tarot reader, I hold myself to the highest standards. I am committed to:

  • Serving my clients’ best interests with integrity, honesty, and compassion.

  • Treating all clients equally with respect, regardless of background, identity, or beliefs.

  • Representing my qualifications truthfully without exaggeration or false claims.

  • Maintaining confidentiality for all readings and discussions, unless requested by the client or required by law.

However, there are exceptions to confidentiality in cases where:

  • A client expresses an intent to harm themselves or others.

  • A client confesses involvement in a serious crime such as murder or sexual assault.

In such situations, I am legally and ethically obligated to report them to the appropriate authorities.

Tarot Readings & Professional Advice

While Tarot can provide deep personal insights, it is not a substitute for licensed professional guidance. If a reading touches on medical, legal, financial, or psychological concerns, I will always encourage clients to seek support from qualified professionals in those fields.

Fair Pricing & Transparency

  • All fees (if applicable) will be discussed and agreed upon in advance, ensuring full transparency.

  • If a client wishes to extend or adjust their session, we will review additional costs together before proceeding.

Respecting Boundaries in Readings

  • I will honestly and compassionately convey the messages I see in the cards.

  • I will not conduct full readings on third parties without their explicit consent.

  • Clients have the right to refuse or end their reading at any time, regardless of prior arrangements.

  • I am happy to read for minors, provided they have parental consent.
